A new place for pork ribs is always welcomed. Better yet, it's at one of the popular shopping malls in Klang Valley, 1 Utama. I was invited to check out Chicago Rib House not too long ago and the place looks pretty cosy despite all the hustle and bustle in a shopping mall.
Gecko what? Gecko Gastrobar! I was invited to try some alcoholic ice cream and desserts earlier this month. My apologies for blogging this late but as the say, better late than never right? Anyway, Gecko Gastrobar is located at PJ Trade Centre, Damansara Perdana.
It has been a dreadful week. Work isn't as motivating despite it has "GONE LIVE". But its the weekend and I have some time to do the things I want. My blog has been stagnant once again but nevertheless, I shall update with something happy!
Firstly, thanks to my buddy Feeq for getting the passes for this musical. Also, thanks to Avante.
Oh my, Andrew is trying to win a camera? Yeap. Not just me but you too could stand a chance to win the new Samsung MV800. From the image above you'll notice the obvious, flip-out display but nevertheless, I'll show you the rest.
See and take pictures from different angles!
Sleek and sytlish! Sometimes I wish I could just bring something light instead of my D90 DSLR. Of course depending on the type of shoot that I'm going for.
CCD Image Sensor and approx. 16.44Megapixels
Just like a smartphone, the MV800 has Smart Touch 3.0! Personalization has never been so easy.
There are 30 sets of MV800 to be won and the cycle ends 31st December 2011.
W'sup guys! Now that I'm back from my honeymoon, I've been busy editing photos and preparing posts for my blog. There is something which I would like to share prior to my honeymoon update. How can something be more exciting than my own honeymoon? The truth is, I'm still filtering/editing my photos taken during my honeymoon at Maldives. Anyway this post is about the brand new Samsung Galaxy Note!
So what's up? As you guys know, my big day was 2 week ago and now, I'll be away for my much awaited honeymoon at Maldives! I need a favor though.
Please help to vote for my nomination for Time Out KL Food Award 2011; Andes BYO at Aman Suria! I just need a few minutes of your time to check out my entry and vote here (No. 19, Select Andes BYO at Aman Suria and hit Next :) ) . Thank you so much!
I have much to blog when I'm back but for now, adios!
I hope that would explain my lack of updates for both photography and personal blog. Yeap, 15th of October 2011 was my wedding day. From early stages of planning till the actual day itself, lots of things happened in between. Nevertheless, I'm glad to say that everything went smoothly and according to plan, thanks to all the help that me and my wife got.
I have quite a lot of things to blog about but I shall organize these posts without rushing through them. Tips on wedding? Nah...I ain't THAT qualified to advise but I guess I can share my personal experiences and things to look out for.
Once again, thanks to all my groomsmen, bridesmaids and friends from church for making my big day a perfect one! In no particular order; See Kevin, Teik Beng, Chin Han, Heng Soon, Ruixian, Jesse, Char Lene, Lorraine, Patricia, Nicholas(my bestman!), My brother-in-law's baby boy whose name is Nicholas as well, Sharon, KC, Adrian, Ying Girl(my wife's lovely cousin), Gregory, Gidian, Joey!
What's up everyone! my blog has been selected for this year's Time Out KL Food Awards 2011 for a special category. This time, there is a new category featuring some of KL's top food bloggers with their own choice of 'best meal' in the past 12 months; Blogger's Choice Award. I'm am very honored to be one of the selected bloggers for this and my nomination goes out to Andes at Aman Suria for their delicious pork burger.
If you haven't heard, Nasi Lemak 2.0 will available in cinema nationwide starting from 8th September 2011! Yeap, that means it started yesterday! I wanted to blog about this sooner but I had other obligations which kept me busy from blogging.
Before I continue, I would like to thank Mike for inviting me to the Nasi Lemak 2.0 screening at e@curve on the 28th of August 2011. It was amazing being able to get up close with the actors and actresses of the movie.
I didn't bring my camera that night. Huge mistake on my part. I didn't know it was going to be such a huge event :( I missed such a huge opportunity to shoot our talented local artists that were in the movie!
However all was not lost! I got to take a picture with the main man himself, Namewee!
Me and Namewee. Picture courtesy of Mike Yip :)
Me and the cast of 'Baba and Nyonya'. Picture courtesy of Mike Yip :)
These were taken before they walked down the red carpet. Pretty awesome right? Anyway, below are some shots of the celebs on stage before the movie.
Karen Kong, Adibah Noor and...the kid who acted as the younger Namewee in the movie
Nadine Ann Thomas and Dato David Arumugam
Not to spoil it all for you but it depicts what is currently happening Malaysia; humorously. The movie is definitely worth watching in my opinion. The title is pretty much appropriate for the movie. Also, don't worry about the language because there are subtitles but if you need to know, they use Bahasa Malaysia, Cantonese, Mandarin, Teochew, Tamil and typical Manglish-lah. Just like the dish nasi lemak, the movie has all the necessary ingredients for a good show.
To sum it up, please check out the show. Not because it is entertaining but I believe it's something that we as Malaysians can be proud of. Watch and you'll understand.
Cooking 101 is back! My wife and I baked our own Butter Cheese and Almond Cake. Its a very simple cake to bake. Below are the list of ingredients you will need. Do take note though, we didn't use any measurement tools so I have no idea how many grams of sugar/flour and etc is used. LOL. So it's all based on 'agak-agak'.
Its almost end of August and that means I have about a month to go before my big day. Things are looking great but I will only update my blog whenever I able to.
Not much food review as I am busy with work and wedding preparations but there might be one coming up over the weekend. As for my wedding preparations, I'm done with most of the major stuff. I've chosen my photographers, videographer and florist. One of the pending stuff now is considered to be 1 of the major headache for most; THE GUEST LIST.
For now, I'm supporting a project at the client's place so I'm unable to access social websites. They even blocked flickr. Why on earth would they block flickr? The category was "Personal Storage". Tough luck huh?
Here I go again, rumbling about the lack of updates. I'm finding it hard to update my blog these days. I'm really tied up with work and when its the weekend, its time to work on my wedding preparations. As now is the time where my Malay friends would be in the month of fasting and buka puasa, I get the opportunity to share a Ramadhan Buffet offered by Cinnamon Coffee House at One World Hotel.
Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been really busy with work. After day 1(Monday), I've been quite stressed up. Not because I feel guilty but to have this whole drama stuck behind my head. I had trouble putting it aside.
I received another call on Tuesday at 9a.m. It was the lady from Ball-less. We spoke for quite awhile regarding the whole drama. Basically, she said that they are not going to argue anymore because its pointless; which I agree. The conclusion was "If you guys don't not take corrective actions, further actions will be taken". That was the instruction from her boss. She didn't want any trouble; Doh, so did we.
I explained to her that it is not up to me to decide and I need time to discuss it with my colleagues.
Its time to end this nonsense as well. After discussing with my colleagues, we have decided not call/email Ball-less any more because its just plain stupid. Why do we need to justify so much when its clearly not even our fault.
So far things are looking great. No more phone calls/emails from them. Peace, like how it should be. I've learned a valuable lesson from this.
If I were to organize a paintball event in the future, I will know what to look out for(but this is like my 4th time organizing...sheesh). It's not like I missed out on a lot of thing.
I was busy with work and my own wedding preparations, I kinda organized this paintball event in a rushing manner.
Black and white
Make sure whatever that was discussed verbally is confirmed via email/contract/paperwork
ALWAYS READ THE TERMS AND CONDITION
I DID NOT make any mistake here. I did read the contract that I signed. The contract was just to confirm that the price is fixed as per quotation and invoice. Therefore, I have no other obligations AFTER paying and going for the event.
Mr. Dick Head
I'm not sure who spoke to me and the lady seems to be avoiding my question each time I asked who was the person. Thanks for zee internet, I might have found out 2 possibilities. Both of them apparently are into paintball and seems to be pro at it.
You spoke with good English but BAD attitude( I wanted to say fucked up attitude but let's be a little professional. Either way, I'm still calling you Mr. Dick Head - oh wait).
Even if a customer is wrong, you should LISTEN to what they have to say. You just kept throwing false accusations. Where is your proof? I have 3 - 4 witnesses regarding whatever happened at the paintball site.
During the conference call(2nd phone call), only the lady and Mr.Nice were present but I think we(the committee) heard someone in the background mumbling but I can't prove that. Were you sitting in just to see how your incompetent staff handle their mistake?
Your staff should have checked and informed us for corrective actions BACK THEN and not coming back after everything is over.
I don't want to blame you but I guess its a mistake by both of us. We should have everything in black and white regarding the switching of players
Nothing bad to say because none of us can prove that point above
You used the example of a cinema scenario where if you only bought 10 tickets, only 10 person are allowed in. True, but I believe cinema staffs are well aware of their policies and rules. If I were to bring more people, the cinema staff would have STOPPED and EXPLAINED to me that unless I buy more tickets, we can't enter. *ahem*
Communicated well, clear instructions were given during the paintball event and managed the game really well
Even though we were blaming you, you spoke with COMMON SENSE and reasoning, unlike your boss Mr. Dick Head.
You gotta be firm and let us know when things doesn't seem right because you guys are the paintball company while we merely your customers. We thought you guys already knew the situation. Worse case scenario, make some phone calls?
I hope its the end of this paintball drama.
Next update will be some delicious THAI FOOD review, stay tuned :)
I just felt like I have to get it off my chest today itself. To make things worse, its Monday. Something ticked me off this morning, BADLY. Some friends know about this but here is the story.
To make this simple, let's just call this Paintball Company as Ball-less. I'm not going to be polite in today's post because I was spoken to in a RUDE manner by some dick head trying to show who's boss. Let's call this guy Mr. Dick Head shall we?
Note: I will be using photos uploaded to my flickr account instead of uploading another batch to photobucket :)
I was busy last week so I didn't pen down much for my Revive post but looking back at my photos, there was quite a lot stuff happening that night. I guess I shall call this post "Revive Rev-Cup Finale Party at Euphoria - Part 2".
I posted quite alot of photos from last Friday's Revive Rev-Cup Finale Party at Euphoria by Ministry Of Sound at Sunway Lagoon Resort. Although I was down with cough, flu and feeling feverish, I had to be there because I won a category in the contest held afew weeks back. Mind you, it was a RM3K prize!
You guys probably have heard it on the radio. Yeap, Chelsea is coming to Malaysia as part of their Asia Tour 2011. It's gonna be a friendly match between our very own Malaysia XI against Chelsea at Bukit Jalil Statium on 21st of July 2011. One sided or not, its definitely exciting to watch!
Although I'm not a football fanatic, I do stand a chance to win tickets to watch the game LIVE thanks to Noobie for having this contest and Samsung for bringing in Chelsea for their Asia Tour 2011.
For those of you who don't blog, don't worry. You can still win passes to watch the match by purchasing ANY Samsung Product(s) worth at least RM300 in a single receipt to enter the SMS contest(click on the first picture above). You might even stand a chance to sit with the Chelsea team during the match!
Sorry for the lack of updates recently. The main reason being I was busy preparing stuff for my photography blog such as compiling pictures as well as upgrading my flickr account from a free account to a pro account.
My photography blog is called Running Andrew Photography. It's still a work in progress but at least its finally up and running(the irony :p ).
Anyway do check it out and let me know what you think?
I’m just a regular guy who loves running around for good food with a company of friends, attending social events and a new found passion for photography! So What's Up? Foodie and shutterbug on the loose!
Do check out my photography blog too! http://runningandrew-photography.blogspot.com/
