I'm am very honored to be one of the selected bloggers for this and my nomination goes out to Andes at Aman Suria for their delicious pork burger.

Nasi Lemak 2.0

If you haven't heard, Nasi Lemak 2.0 will available in cinema nationwide starting from 8th September 2011! Yeap, that means it started yesterday! I wanted to blog about this sooner but I had other obligations which kept me busy from blogging.

Before I continue, I would like to thank Mike for inviting me to the Nasi Lemak 2.0 screening at e@curve on the 28th of August 2011. It was amazing being able to get up close with the actors and actresses of the movie.

Thanks Mike!

I didn't bring my camera that night. Huge mistake on my part. I didn't know it was going to be such a huge event :( I missed such a huge opportunity to shoot our talented local artists that were in the movie!

However all was not lost! I got to take a picture with the main man himself, Namewee!

These were taken before they walked down the red carpet. Pretty awesome right? Anyway, below are some shots of the celebs on stage before the movie.

Not to spoil it all for you but it depicts what is currently happening Malaysia; humorously. The movie is definitely worth watching in my opinion. The title is pretty much appropriate for the movie. Also, don't worry about the language because there are subtitles but if you need to know, they use Bahasa Malaysia, Cantonese, Mandarin, Teochew, Tamil and typical Manglish-lah. Just like the dish nasi lemak, the movie has all the necessary ingredients for a good show.

To sum it up, please check out the show. Not because it is entertaining but I believe it's something that we as Malaysians can be proud of. Watch and you'll understand.

Enjoy!

Cooking 101: Homemade Butter Cheese and Almond Cake

DSC_1745

Cooking 101 is back! My wife and I baked our own Butter Cheese and Almond Cake. Its a very simple cake to bake. Below are the list of ingredients you will need. Do take note though, we didn't use any measurement tools so I have no idea how many grams of sugar/flour and etc is used. LOL. So it's all based on 'agak-agak'.

Final Month

Its almost end of August and that means I have about a month to go before my big day. Things are looking great but I will only update my blog whenever I able to.

Not much food review as I am busy with work and wedding preparations but there might be one coming up over the weekend. As for my wedding preparations, I'm done with most of the major stuff. I've chosen my photographers, videographer and florist. One of the pending stuff now is considered to be 1 of the major headache for most; THE GUEST LIST.

For now, I'm supporting a project at the client's place so I'm unable to access social websites. They even blocked flickr. Why on earth would they block flickr? The category was "Personal Storage". Tough luck huh?

Till then, do check out my older posts :)

Ramadhan Buffet at Cinnamon Coffe House

DSC_1543

Here I go again, rumbling about the lack of updates. I'm finding it hard to update my blog these days. I'm really tied up with work and when its the weekend, its time to work on my wedding preparations. As now is the time where my Malay friends would be in the month of fasting and buka puasa, I get the opportunity to share a Ramadhan Buffet offered by Cinnamon Coffee House at One World Hotel.

Paintball Drama Episode 2

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been really busy with work. After day 1(Monday), I've been quite stressed up. Not because I feel guilty but to have this whole drama stuck behind my head. I had trouble putting it aside.

I received another call on Tuesday at 9a.m. It was the lady from Ball-less. We spoke for quite awhile regarding the whole drama. Basically, she said that they are not going to argue anymore because its pointless; which I agree. The conclusion was "If you guys don't not take corrective actions, further actions will be taken". That was the instruction from her boss. She didn't want any trouble;  Doh, so did we.

I explained to her that it is not up to me to decide and I need time to discuss it with my colleagues.

Its time to end this nonsense as well. After discussing with my colleagues, we have decided not call/email Ball-less any more because its just plain stupid. Why do we need to justify so much when its clearly not even our fault.

So far things are looking great. No more phone calls/emails from them. Peace, like how it should be. I've learned a valuable lesson from this.

If I were to organize a paintball event in the future, I will know what to look out for(but this is like my 4th time organizing...sheesh). It's not like I missed out on a lot of thing.

For myself:
  • Prepare earlier
    • I was busy with work and my own wedding preparations, I kinda organized this paintball event in a rushing manner.
  • Black and white
    •  Make sure whatever that was discussed verbally is confirmed via email/contract/paperwork
  • ALWAYS READ THE TERMS AND CONDITION
    • I DID NOT make any mistake here. I did read the contract that I signed. The contract was just to confirm that the price is fixed as per quotation and invoice. Therefore, I have no other obligations AFTER paying and going for the event.
For Ball-less
  • Mr. Dick Head
    • I'm not sure who spoke to me and the lady seems to be avoiding my question each time I asked who was the person. Thanks for zee internet, I might have found out 2 possibilities. Both of them apparently are into paintball and seems to be pro at it.
    • You spoke with good English but BAD attitude( I wanted to say fucked up attitude but let's be a little professional. Either way, I'm still calling you Mr. Dick  Head - oh wait).
    • Even if a customer is wrong, you should LISTEN to what they have to say. You just kept throwing false accusations. Where is your proof? I have 3 - 4 witnesses regarding whatever happened at the paintball site.
    • During the conference call(2nd phone call), only the lady and Mr.Nice were present but I think we(the committee) heard someone in the background mumbling but I can't prove that. Were you sitting in just to see how your incompetent staff handle their mistake?
    • Your staff should have checked and informed us for corrective actions BACK THEN and not coming back after everything is over.
  • Lady
    • I don't want to blame you but I guess its a mistake by both of us. We should have everything in black and white regarding the switching of players
    • Nothing bad to say because none of us can prove that point above
    • You used the example of a cinema scenario where if you only bought 10 tickets, only 10 person are allowed in. True, but I believe cinema staffs are well aware of their policies and rules. If I were to bring more people, the cinema staff would have STOPPED and EXPLAINED to me that unless I buy more tickets, we can't enter. *ahem*
  • Mr. Nice
    • Communicated well, clear instructions were given during the paintball event and managed the game really well
    • Even though we were blaming you, you spoke with COMMON SENSE and reasoning, unlike your boss Mr. Dick Head.
    • You gotta be firm and let us know when things doesn't seem right because you guys are the paintball company while we merely your customers. We thought you guys already knew the situation. Worse case scenario, make some phone calls?

I hope its the end of this paintball drama.

Next update will be some delicious THAI FOOD review, stay tuned :)

Paintball turned painfully sour

I just felt like I have to get it off my chest today itself. To make things worse, its Monday. Something ticked me off this morning, BADLY. Some friends know about this but here is the story.

To make this simple, let's just call this Paintball Company as Ball-less. I'm not going to be polite in today's post because I was spoken to in a RUDE manner by some dick head trying to show who's boss. Let's call this guy Mr. Dick Head shall we?
