Happy Chinese New Year
Simple but yet its meaning is abundant. Every Chinese New Year, we get to see beautiful commercials by Petronas. How can one forget all the videos directed by the late Yasmid Ahmad. This year is no exception; Petronas has once again produced a CNY commercial entitled "Coming Home". From the title itself, you will know the storyline of the commercial.
To summarize the video, its basically telling us that no matter where you are and what you do, one will stay true to his or her roots and tradition. Meaningful commercial like this helps to inspire as well as rekindle family's relationship; an unseen 'energy' as some might say.

“Energy is everywhere, in everything we do, and especially at this time. It could be the excitement and the bonding during the reunion dinner, or it could be the hustle and bustle of shopping for and decorating the home. It could even be a portrait of the wise grandfather of the family, or a picture of the lanterns that light up our cities,” explained Dato Mohammad Medan.
In the spirit of Chinese New Year, Petronas is collaborating with Leica Camera AG to have a photography contest. With the theme "Reimagining Energy", anyone can submit their photo via PETRONAS' facebook and they stand a chance to win great prizes.
Photos of selected winners will also be displayed at Galeri PETRONAS which is truly an honor. As the contest is about photography, fear not as PETRONAS will be conducting photography workshops at selected schools and colleges.
