Day 5 at Taipei - We were going to famous Jiu Fen Old Street. It was quite a long journey. We started off at Zhongshan Elementary School MRT station to Minquan W. Road station.

From Minquan W. Road station, we took another ride to Taipei's Main Station where we will travel by train to Ruifang.

Next up, another interchange from MRT to the old school railway tracks. Location, Ruifang!

DSC_5878
Erm, right...so how do I use this?

DSC_5879
Spent a few minutes trying to figure out on how to get tickets.

DSC_5880
In the end, we gave up and bought tickets through the ticket counter LOL.

DSC_5881
Perfect timing for us!

DSC_5882
I haven't seen a train conductor for quite awhile. Pretty nostalgic

The train ride lasted about an hour! It was THAT far and both wifey and I had to stand during the entire trip; what a bummer because we knew that we were going to walk A LOT so if we do get any chance to sit while traveling, we will LOL.

Felt hungry after the traveling. Must be the cold weather too. We decided to snack a little.

We had to take a bus towards Jiu Fen Old Street. Took awhile before the bus came along.

I can't remember how long the journey took but the scenery was amazing. Once we were near Jiu Fen Old Street, the bus stopped at its usual stop and we had to continue by foot. We found a great lookout point to take some landscape shots. The view was breath taking.

After a short walk from the lookout point, we finally arrived at Jiu Fen Old Street. The place was buzzing with tourists!

Too many stalls and it was getting really crowded

Spot us!

We started to feel hungry again. After all the walking, it was time for a snack! Spotted this stall selling some sort of wrapped ice cream with shaved nougat fillings and parsley.

A really good snack. Although the weather was already cold, the combination of everything was just tasty and refreshing.

Thanks to the cold weather and walking we stopped for another snack. It seems that this food is pretty famous in Taipei.

I wasn't too happy with the customer service at this place(in the spoiler). There was a really rude lady running the shop. No one was buying from her anyway. Might not be 18SX but I decided to put the photos in the spoiler.

After that pathetic condom world shop or some sort, we carried on walking.

We ended up at some lookout point at one of the ends of Jiu Fen Old Street. We took a short break while enjoying the spectacular view and cool breeze .

As usual, more furkids along the way. This one was really cute with a...cheong sam?

One last stop before heading back was this dessert place. Apparently it's quite famous. When the weather is cold and you're feeling hungry, having something this delicious and piping hot, it's perfect.

The place is HUGE. Almost looks like an airport no?

DSC_6007
It was almost 6pm and it was already dark. The ceiling or roof are those clear glass type.

After the long journey, we finally got back to our hotel area and settled for whatever food that was easy to get. Since my wife doesn't take beef, I went ahead with some beef noodles.
