Homemade goodness of Spaghetti with cheesie pork ball
It's been awhile since I last did a Cooking 101. This time, it was sort of a failure but still tasted delicious. Wifey and I wanted to do some cheesie pork ball but we didn't want to waste some cheese we had but it's the wrong type of cheese; Cheddar which doesn't melt easily. Should have used Parmesan cheese instead.
Some things could have been done differently apart from just the cheese. For example, I should have pan fried the pork balls instead of steaming them.
Anyway here are the ingredients needed:
- Your choice of pasta; I used spaghetti - normal whole durum wheat and squid ink.
- Garlic
- Big Onions
- Cheddar Cheese(When you're trying this, please use Parmesan Cheese)
- Minced Pork(about >500g here)
- Sesame Oil
- Light Soy Sauce
- Pepper
I should have diced them up alittle finer but whatever
Light soy sauce and pepper
Once we were done with the seasoning, we left it in the refrigerator to rest for about 10mins.
Throw in the diced up garlic and onions
Add some sesame oil
About 2 table spoon of it
Let it rest for awhile while we prepare the cheese :)
Cheddar cheese
Cut into cubes and you are ready to prepare the pork balls.
Uh, move along
Just nice for 2 plates of porkie balls
Add some butter so that they don't stick. It adds more aroma anyway :)
I steamed the pork balls for about 5 minutes
Almost there
The pan fits all LOL
Just to sear them a little
Bolognese sauce cooked with onions and mushroom
As you can see, the supposed-to-be-melting-cheese didn't go as plan but still, the taste was good. I will try again for a cheesie pork ball attempt but I might also do a homemade pork burger entry as well.
Till then, have a good weekend peeps!
guys like you is slowly extincting...Do u know that?;DDD
ReplyDeleteglad that I know someone like this...haha...train all yr guys friends to cook, then introduce me! hahaha!;D
btw, good idea huh? u stuff the cheddar cheese inside...If it's hot enough, it'll burst out ..wooh! Fantastic! ;)
Hey Eunice,
Deletehaha wah...thank you for your kind words :P It was hot enough but the cheese is not the right type for the melting effect.
I shall try again next time hehehe.
